Adult Aquatics

LEARN TO SWIM

Ages 14 & up. A special 45 minute class for adults who don’t feel at ease in the water or who have not had swimming lessons before. Instructors work with small groups to help individuals overcome their fears and begin to develop basic swimming ability and water safety skills.

STROKE CLINIC

Ages 13 & up. These classes are designed for those who would like to work on their stroke technique, learn different swim styles and build endurance for longer swims.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Extra attention and special scheduling are some of the special touches of private lessons. Classes are one-on-one and utilize the same teaching techniques as group lessons. Semi-private lessons are for 2-3 adults or parent and child who wish to take lessons together. This class is done in four, 30-minute sessions.

AQUA JOGGING

Members will be required to wear an Aqua Jogging belt around the waist and will perform multiple exercises in the deeper end of our pool. Members will use aqua hand weights as well in a circuit training fashion of multiple movements’ requiring total body muscles to get a great low intensity workout.

AQUATHERAPY

This class is specifically designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and the skills required for daily living through gentle stretching, walking and light strength training in the pool.

AQUASIZE

Structured 1-hour long water fitness class for adults with aerobic, strength building and endurance components. The fitness class uses low-stress water-resistance  for a stimulating and safe workout. Water walking will also be incorporated.

FEATURING THE Y HEALTHY LIVING APP!

This Y program is a daily, ongoing challenge designed to assist members and non-members in achieving their weight loss goals as well as many other healthy living targets. Each day participants will log their nutrition and activity achievements in our new Healthy Living App. Based on your achievements, points are built to work toward winning weekly challenges that lead to Y prizes! All materials are provided inside the app, which will sync directly with your current fitness tracker or with the Y’s FitKik activity tracker.

GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES

From yoga & pilates to cadio kickboxing and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), our package group exercise offerings are just what you need to be active and feel good. DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM

Diabetes is a chronic disease that causes blood sugar levels to rise higher than normal. Diabetes affects more than 29 million people.

A condition called prediabetes occurs when blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough for a type 2 diabetes diagnosis.

More than 86 million Americans have prediabetes and are at risk of developing diabetes. Diabetes has no cure, but prediabetes can be reversed.

PERSONAL TRAINING

No matter what your health and wellness goals are, our nationally certified personal coaches will help you get into the best shape of your life. Coaches will guide you through a safe, effective and efficient session to feeling great and staying strong. From strength training, flexibility, mobility and cardiovascular sessions, we offer a wide variety of programs to assist our members.

GROUP INDOOR CYCLING

This class is a great cardiovascular workout. Pedal through hill climbs, sprints, and many other challenging drills and exercises. All levels are welcome. Remember to bring a towel and water bottle!

CPR & LIFEGUARD TRAINING

The Y offers both CPR/AED First Aid training courses as well as Lifeguard training. Both are blended learning courses with course materials and e-learnings. You are required to be 16 years old and pass a physical competency test consisting of swimming 400 yards, treading water for 2 minutes using legs only, feet first surface dive to 10 feet, underwater swim from 15 feet and having the ability to follow verbal instructions to take part in the Lifeguard course.
