First Responder Membership
It is the policy of the Northwestern CT YMCA to grant a 25% discount on membership to those who are active police officers, firefighters, ambulance medics or currently in the military; this includes the Reserve/Guard. The discount is extended to all those who are on the membership. The joining fee is waived. A copy of qualifying ID/document is to be included with the membership application.Military Active Duty
The Northwestern CT YMCA participates in the Military One Source funded program; this allows the family members of the deployed military personnel to apply for a free 6-month membership with possible renewal that is based on usage.Military Active Duty on Leave
It is the policy of the Northwestern CT YMCA to grant entrance into our facilities free of charge for those home on leave from military active duty and to their families for the length of their leave not to exceed one month.Non-Profit Membership
It is the policy of the Northwestern CT YMCA to grant a 25% discount on membership to those who are employed by a 501c(3) non-profit organization. The discount is extended to all those who are on the membership. The joining fee is waived. A copy of qualifying ID/document is to be included with the membership application.Big Brothers/Big Sisters
It is the policy of the Northwestern CT YMCA to grant entrance into our facilities free of charge to the Big and Little on weekends only, with organizational ID.Corporate Membership
It is the policy of the Northwestern CT YMCA to waive the joining fee on corporate memberships. The relationship must be established by the Corporation, Ys Marketing Director and Ys Membership Coordinator.
Monthly E.F.T. Draft
Monthly Electronic Funds Transfer Draft is a payment plan that allows a member to pay for a continuous membership in equal monthly payments that are automatically deducted from ones checking, savings or credit card account for as long as one belongs to the Y. This payment plan does not lock you into a set period of time, but does require 30 days written notice for cancellation.
Other Payment Plans
Memberships can also be paid-in-full at time of application using cash, check, major credit and debit cards. Annual membership payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event that a member does not use his/her membership to the extent that was anticipated, no refunds or credits will be issued.
This one-time $60 fee ($35 Young Adult) is for all new members and members who allow their membership to expire for a 60-day period. There will be NO Joining Fee for paid-in-full and monthly E.F.T. draft memberships when you register for a minimum 1 year. The funds are used for equipment purchases and capital improvements.
Guest Pass Fee
Passes purchased within 30 days of joining may be applied to the joining fee of a new membership. Maximum purchase of 6 day passes per year. Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
We never want finances to be the reason that someone can not be a part of the Y community. To that end, we offer three assistance programs, funded by our annual Strong Kids Campaign:
Your membership can be used for facility use only (no programs) at any YMCA in New England at no extra charge. See visiting YMCA website.
Visit other Participating YMCAs throughout the country. Many participating YMCAs have no restrictions on visiting Y members, however some restrictions may include a visit limit or a small guest fee - please call in advance to verify status.
The 6 Week Starter is a complementary series of appointments with you and a YMCA Fitness Coach. We will help establish your personal wellness goals, counsel on your nutritional habits, and coach you through the strength equipment. Research shows that support and motivation are two important factors that lead to individual success. Simply fill out our online request form and a YMCA Fitness Coach will contact you to get started!
In all areas of the YMCA, children under 13 need to be supervised by an adult (18+) unless in a YMCA program.
Membership fees may be refunded if you move from the Ys service
area or due to medical reasons. Refunds are from the date of notification
forward, not retroactive. A cancellation form must be completed
Program Fees will be refunded in the event the Y cancels a class due to insufficient enrollment or facility conflict and will be processed by the appropriate program director.
If you wish to withdraw from a program the following will apply:
1. All refund requests must be made in writing.
2. If you notify the Y before classes begin, class fee paid less $10 service charge.
3. If you notify the Y after one class meeting, 75% refund less $10 service charge.
4. If you notify the Y after two class meetings, 50% refund less $10 service charge.
5. No refund will be approved after three class meetings.
6. Refunds will not be given to participants who fail to use membership or attend classes.
7. All refunds will be processed through our Business Office.
