6/26- 8/8/25 • Nine 1-week sessions
Monday-Friday: 9 am - 4 pm • Grades 1-6
Camper Extended Care is available.
Camp TORYMCA is a planned fun filled summer for children in grades 1-6 held at the Torrington Y. The camper’s day consists of core camp activities, camper-chosen electives, daily outdoor play, and weekly off-site field trips planned to help each child build confidence and try new things.



CORE CAMP ACTIVITIES

Arts & Crafts: Campers will be able to find their inner
artist and let imaginations flow. We will learn new crafts
and explore many different art forms.

Science Center: From animal kingdoms to exploding
volcanoes, campers will experiment in the science center.
We’ll also explore what happens around us and why it
happens.

Swimming: Each day campers will take a trip to our heated
indoor pool with a swim instructor and lifeguards present
in addition to our camp staff. We will also take 4 trips to
YMCA Camp Wa Wa Segowea, located in Southfield, MA,
this summer where we can swim & boat in the lake as well.

Group Games and Physical Fitness: From court to field
games, campers will participate and interact each day in
organized group activities to keep them moving and help
build the skills needed to work as a team.

Camper Readers: 30 minutes per class consisting of
shared and independent reading.

Camper Chosen Electives: Sports, art, dance, and drama
are a few of the activities to choose from.

Healthy Eating: Through a partnership with Education
Connection, we are once again pleased to offer lunch to all
Y campers free of charge. Lunch each day will consist of a
sandwich, fruit or vegetable side, a healthy snack, and milk
or juice to drink.

CAMPER EXTENDED CARE
Extended child care is available at the Y location for Y
campers. Campers may arrive as early as 6:00 am and
remain as late as 6:00 PM.

BUS TRANSPORTATION FROM WINSTED
Pick-up & drop-off at Hinsdale School.

ADDITIONAL CAMP OPPORTUNITIES

ADVENTURE CAMP @ ELKS POND
6/26 - 8/18 • Eight 1-week sessions
Monday-Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Boys and Girls Ages 6-12
Campers will arrive at beautiful Elks Pond in Torrington at 9:00 am each day to take part in exciting outdoor activities of all kinds from pond swimming and fishing to nature walks and team sports, games, arts & crafts and much, much more! Along route of their summer of adventure, campers will develop character and confidence as they make new friends and create long lasting memories while having the time of their lives.

LEGO CAMP
6/26 - 6/30 • Grades 1-6
Monday-Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
LEGO camp is the perfect choice for young, creative builders! Campers will build independently as well as with the help of instruction on projects involving LEGOS and other building materials. An exhibit of all creations will be available for viewing on the final day of the camp. LEGO Camp includes a field trip as well as daily swim time.

DINO DIGGERS CAMP
7/3 - 7/7 • Grades 1-6
Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Explore the days of the dinosaurs and learn about different creatures from the Micro-Raptor to the T-Rex! Campers will dig for fossils, go on “archaeological expeditions,” and play dinosaur games. This camp includes a field trip to The Science Center in West Hartford, as well as daily swim time.

BRAIN BOOSTERS ACADEMIC CAMP
7/3 - 8/18 • Seven 1-week sessions
Monday-Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm • Grades 1-4
Camper Extended Care is available.
Brain Boosters camp keeps students’ minds sharp while also allowing them to have a ton of fun. During one-week sessions, the campers will sharpen their learning skills and build confidence. Students spend the morning in educational classes that explore many areas of interest and improve their skills. Some of the areas include the likes of reading, writing, science, technology, and study skills.

CAMP SUNSHINE PRESCHOOL CAMP
6/26 - 8/25 • Nine 1 week sessions
Monday - Friday: Half Day: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Full Day: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Camper Extended Care is available.
Kids have the opportunity to explore nature, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence, and make lasting friendships and memories. Campers will discover weekly themes, arts & craft projects, music & center time, outside & water play, special guests and family fun events.
