Yes. The Northwest CT YMCA is a local, community-based non-profit organization formed by volunteers. A volunteer board provides direction to help the YMCA respond to community needs. Tax deductible contributions from the community make it possible to construct YMCA facilities as well as provide financial assistance so everyone can participate in YMCA membership and programs.
The Northwest CT YMCA is a Nationwide Membership participant.** We welcome current members of other Y’s. You may use your Northwest CT YMCA membership at other Y’s when you travel. Just make sure you have your current membership card and ask about their Nationwide policy. (Not all Y’s are Nationwide Y’s.) If you’d like to find out more about other Y’s, log onto www.ymca.net and put the zip code of the area you are traveling to in the search field. (**Due to current state restrictions concerning the coronavirus pandemic, and considering the safety of our members, only Northwest CT YMCA members are allowed at this time. If you wish to attend another Y with your Northwest CT YMCA membership, call them first as their restrictions may also have changed due to the pandemic.)

As a new member, you will have a joining fee and prorated dues for the first month to get started. The YMCA does not require a contract.
Youth, Teen, Young Adult, Adult, Senior, Senior Weekday Limited, Senior Couple Weekday limited, Senior Plus, Couple and Family memberships are available, so you are sure to find the type of membership that best meets your needs. We are committed to membership for all. And, no one is turned away due to an inability to pay – please ask about our Scholarship Program.

We’re happy to have the whole family involved at the Y. Members must reside at the same household. A family membership would consist of two adults and any children 18 and under plus full time students 22 and under living in the same household. A couple would consist of two individuals living at the same address.
The Northwest CT YMCA offers a variety Facility Memberships in which the members have full use of all facilities in our three branches. This includes use of all equipment, the pool and unlimited Group Exercise classes. We also offer Program Memberships, a low cost option for participation in programs ONLY. No facility use benefits. With a facility membership all group exercise classes are included. Visit the Schedule tab to find out more. Program members are not eligible for Group Ex classes.
Yes. With a facility membership you have use of the pool during free swim times as well as use of the gym. Please check the latest schedules.
Yes. Babysitting is available to our members for children ages 6 mos. – 12 years. This service is provided for parents using the Y recreationally on a space available basis for up to 2 hours. Parents must remain on the premises. Please see each branch for their individual hours. The Y reserves the right to change hours and policies.
Yes. Contributions to a our campaigns and general donations for other purposes are tax-deductable. The YMCA is recognized as an IRS 501(c)3 charity.
Fees paid for membership dues or program enrollment are not tax deductible.
